Feeling unlucky? Read this.

Nowadays there are a lot of people who are facing disappointments in their work or life despite the efforts they are putting in. They have become pretty confused about what next step they should take to survive in these challenging times or are losing hope and positivity.

So conclusively they say that destiny or luck does not favour them.

Well, this is not incorrect / superstition, as per ancient scriptures like Vedas, Puranas etc, Luck does play a role in your life.

Before discussing in details. I would like to explain what happens when planets are unfavourable & times are challenging.

This has been very well explained by Ved Vyas in ” Mahabharata Sabhaparv”.

Sabha Parva, also called the “Book of the Assembly Hall”, book outlines over a hundred principles of governance and administration necessary for a kingdom and its citizens to be prosperous, virtuous and happy.

The book also details the principle of evil and crime against humanity, of why individuals who themselves have not been harmed must act regardless when society at large suffers systematic crime and injustice .

The last two sub-books describe the one vice and addiction of the virtuous king Yudhishthira – gambling. Shakuni, encouraged by evil Dhritarashtra, mocks virtuous Yudhishthira and tempts him into a game of dice. Yudhishthira bets everything and loses the game, leading to the eventual exile of the Pandavas.

Scholars have questioned why Yudhishthira the Dharmaraja, who had it all, and was praised for enabling an empire infused with Dharma, Artha and Kama, who was so consistently ethical and moral until the last two Parvas, succumbs so suddenly to gambling.

On this Ved Vyas replied that the Time that is ”kaal ” & planetary position was not favourable for Yudhishthira. That’s why his intellect or understanding degraded. He became delirious.

Here Ved Vyas gave a theory – When The Time is unfavourable or The ” Kaal” is all against you. Kaal ( Time) is so powerful that it can make you unrealistic & illusionary.

That means, that it can make the inauspicious look auspicious & the auspicious seem like inauspicious.

In the words of Ved Vyas ” if we do not fall for reverse philosophy & if we select our priorities& choices wisely, & are aware, alert of our surroundings then nothing can harm us even in the unfavourable circumstances or on the contrary even the challenging problem can become an opportunity for us rather than an obstacle depends on our positive attitude or positive mindset towards the situation.

This also has been very clearly explained by the famous motivational speaker & learned man Napoleon Hill –

“Everyone faces defeat. It may be a stepping-stone or a stumbling block, depending on the mental attitude with which it is faced.”

Famous Indian Saint, Goswami Tulsidas has said the same thing with some modifications in his couplets- There are seven friends or supporters who help us in the unfavourable times, Those are Patience, Common Sense, our duties/ dharma, Art& Literature, courage, truthfulness & faith in God.

There is also a verse in Agnipurana too which says ” Rain which means good luck & prepared field which means Efforts. Success comes only when these two meet together.

Meaning at the time of adversity one should keep doing efforts.

Agnipurana also says that there are two types of phases in human life, it’s either You Earn or You learn.

So when the challenging times come then it is the stage to learn and not to earn. Time to sharpen or improve your skills and upgrade your Self.

If we summarize the principles of scriptures crux of it is that hardships/ challenging times is the time for calmness, Improvement & Courage.

Courage does not mean that we should go beyond the limits or out of the way but rather it means Not to Give up as Mary Anne Radmacher says

“Courage does not always roar, sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.”

So my suggestion to everyone is that do not lose hope, confidence & faith. Our scriptures itself make us learn that like everything luck can not be always unfavourable – good times & bad times are temporary they rotate like a wheel. Just remember that if you or anyone is facing difficult times then good time is also near # This too shall pass.
